oil - Dave H - 01-Jul-2011 08:53 AM

for Peter Harris,do you know of any drilling work offshore greece,or is it hush hush.

Dave - is it a floater of a Jack up?

There is some hydrocarbon (gas) exporation going on conducted by Public Petroleum Corp/Energean of Greece using a rig called GSP Saturn, but there is also exploration in the Aegean Sea going on to assess geothermal potential as the geology of the area could favour a thin crust/hot rocks environment which is currrently a "hot" topic in the renewables field.

thanks Peter for the news, experts on our website here, livingincrete.netforum think it could be MS3 or MS1 jack ups but the waters here are to deep, they say it would need a submersible type, it would help the Greek economy somewhat if they did find gas or oil, I saw the rig on the horizon off the gulf of Chania last sat moving slowly east.

Hey Dave

My best guess would be for gas or geothermal, but as my wife often reminds me - I have been wrong before Smile
