Leyland Secondary Modern (Wellfield)

Welcome to the forum, cousin. Jean is visiting us for a couple of weeks. She was quite surprised to see your message.

We're in Anacortes, on the west coast of the US, just south of the Canada/US border.

Our e-mail address is ""

Frank Damp (wife Eileen, nee Nixon)
Leyland resident 1941-1965, emigrated to the US in 1968,
retired to Anacortes, Washington State, USA in 1999.
Thanks Frank,

This forum sure is great, it makes you feel closer to home.
We live just north of Brisbane, about a 30min. drive away.

Hope Jean has a great holiday.

Hey Frank, give my kindest regards to Jean. I still have a photo of the two of us planting a tree at Fox Lane Junior School, we were the two youngest in the school, my birthday on the 17th Aug and I think Jean's is the 16th Aug. Jean was the nurse who delivered my first born son, Geoff, in April 1964. He's a daddy now, son John is 10 years old.
I didn't know Jean was a nurse, I can remember her being a teacher at the school on New hall lane. My niece (by marriage) Hasmita had Jean for her very 1st infant teacher. You learn something new everyday[Smile]

Hi, I went to Wellfield from 1964 -1968.I remember Joe Lowe very well. Does anybody else remember him? I think his bark was worse than his bite.

[Big Grin]I remember Joe Lowe he was an excellent shot with a blackboard cleaner, he was very funny when he lost his temper, all we could do was laugh and of course then we got into more trouble, we would then laugh more, poor Mr Lowe would give up and walk off[8D][Big Grin]
Hi folks, about time we had a section for Wellfield!!

I went there from about 1959 - anyone else from this time?
I can't believe that there are no more people on this forum who are my age ... ish ... and went to Wellfield - it was quite a big school - lololol
We're suffering Noel Mk 11 from apathy. People just don't seem to want to participate.
Afraid I am one of those who log in and enjoy everyone's writings,Noel Mk1, but just don't have much to say - hence my 'just starting' class.
I will consider my wrists slapped and promise to try and make the effort a little more.
I don't have much to say either Noel Mk11 but we Noel's have to stick together you know how we get victimized.
