London 2012 Olympics

The games have begun.

London 2012 Schedule

I caught the later part of the opening ceremony last night and it looked pretty good. I made sure that I got my train home from London Bridge before the end of it to avoid the rush. To be honest the trains weren't too full around 11 last night.

I bet Mitt Romney is regretting his foot in mouth comments earlier in the week.

Top political figures in Britain have been queuing up to criticise Mitt Romney after he kicked off his first foreign tour by publicly questioning whether London would be able to run the Olympics smoothly.

The most high-profile humiliation came when thousands of Brits jeered him after London's Mayor Boris Johnson mocked him at a concert to mark the end of the Olympic Torch relay.

I'm not aware of who he is Martin, but good on Boris if he did. The ceremony was certainly different to the norm and spectacular in places, a bit boring in others.

I loved the part were James Bond accompanied the Queen in the helicopter and they both parachuted out over the stadium.

That was superb Frank, wasn't it. She clearly has a good sense of fun despite not smiling all the time. The big fuss now is the empty seats, you couldn't get a ticket for gold when they were on sale, why are so many seats empty?

Having watched the Honduras v Spain soccer match I'm pleased that Honduras won , how most of the Spaniards avoided being sent off the pitch for misconduct is beyond me ,their lack of sportmanship was incredible , they were disgraceful !
