Amazon Echo
Amazon's new Siri/Google Now alternative is a speaker that you plug in at home and performs a range of tasks.
What do you think? Martin ~ |

RE: Amazon Echo
I saw a piece about it yesterday, but since I'm not into that kind of thing I wasn't taking notice, but I think it was listed ad $99.00. Of course that's for the 115v 60Hz power version. It'll be at least 3x as much in the UK, if other entertainment component prices are anything to go by.
I'll check Amazon's website later and report back Frank |

I have just looked at the Amazon site it states $200 |

RE: Amazon Echo
So that means £400 over here. You can buy from the American Amazon direct I'm told from the UK much cheaper than the UK site?

RE: Amazon Echo
The problem with buying the US-market version will be the electrcal compatibility. It's probably all 5volts dc inside, but the mains power side will be for 115V/60Hz.

RE: Amazon Echo
It's $99 if you are a Prime member. Not too different from Star Trek technology.
