- Peter Harris - 24-Feb-2011 Done in doors eh - what do you suppose they are hiding? I couldn't see from the sales literature what they do with the nasties that are formed as by-products - they weren't mentioned. Anerobic and aerobic systems are the ones used in sewerage farms - they certainly produce smelly gases. If you want to run these guys out of town you need the dirt on this operation and you won't find it in glossy brochures and GreenPeace articles. You don't get owt for nowt - that is missing from this recycling equation. - noel - 24-Feb-2011 It positively stinks this morning. We normally have windows open to let in fresh air, not today!! I'm dog walking in a moment and I'm dreading it. Maybe if I wore a gas mask...(at least it'd improve my looks[:p]) - filmoss - 24-Feb-2011 quote: Originally posted by noel It positively stinks this morning. Dont let them sweep this one under the carpet ! - cindy - 24-Feb-2011 Filmoss - you might joke but you know what I put was right. - noel - 24-Feb-2011 I disagree Cindy, if you keep quiet absolutely nothing will be done. - cindy - 24-Feb-2011 I'm not saying keep quiet. I'm saying don't put it in the press or on the radio. House prices dropped because of the recession and this is making it worse. - chops - 24-Feb-2011 I'd love to hear your evidence about house prices dropping due to the temporary smell? The damage has already been done as regards the Waste Plant. It's there, it's huge and it's not going anywhere. I'm more concerned with the potential hazards that the smell brings. The speaker at the forum stopped short of guaranteeing the smell wasn't hazardous when pushed - how could he when he didn't even know what the smell was! If we don't keep the pressure on, this will all go away quietly, LCC aren't exactly going to be up in arms about it are they?? - filmoss - 24-Feb-2011 Again today the stench was in the air ! I was returning home south on the M6 and the smell became quite clear just before I approached the M61 turnoff ! And I COULD smell it in Preston as could my daughter and she hadn't even got into my car when she noticed it ! In an earlier post someone mentioned it could be smelled in Lea and at the time I must admit that I thought that to be a little far fetched, until now that is !! [xx(] - noel - 24-Feb-2011 Why don't they stop chucking the smell out until the situation is resolved? - filmoss - 24-Feb-2011 quote: Originally posted by noel Why don't they stop chucking the smell out until the situation is resolved? I think its a sort of work in progress thing !! [?] |
