Guys - wake up - who do you think 'cindy' is - shes the Comms Manager at Global Renewables - dont take the bait! Thats the kind of company youre up against - one that puts fake postings on a chat forum.

If you live in a semi rural residential area you should not have to put up with unnatural smells which (despite assurances from Global Renewables) might contain toxins or bio aerosols and could well be injurous to health.

Brewer doesnt live in Preston either - he commutes - he actually lives in Bucks. You all got lied to there as well.

The apology and explanation from Global Renewables Chief Excutive David Brewer throws up more questions than it answers. Mr Brewer says: "We have a number of systems in place to prevent odours but unfortunately we have experienced some temporary technical problems in recent days. We have completed repairs to our air extract systems and these should have led to an immediate improvement but the problems are not yet fully resolved."
Firstly Mr Brewer says "in recent days" but to my personal knowledge, and sense of smell, these odours have been around since early January, and some people have reported as smelling them as early as December. How come Global Renewables monitoring systems did not detect the smells until they were told about them?
Secondly he says "a number of systems in place to prevent odours". How come that all these systems have apparently failed simultaneously?
Thirdly he says "completed repairs......these should have led to an immediate improvement". This poses at least two questions "How come their systems have broken down after only 3 or 4 months, and WHY haven't the repairs worked? It would suggest that they really don't know the answers.
LCC and Global Renewables, at the planning and consultation stage (I use the word consulation with a measure of sarcasm) said: "WE DIDN'T GET IT RIGHT IN AUSTRALIA. WE DIDN'T GET IT RIGHT IN GERMANY. BUT DON'T WORRY THIS IS A DIFFERENT SYSTEM NOW AND WE WILL GET IT RIGHT IN LANCASHIRE" Some news for you Mr Brewer, YOU STILL HAVEN'T GOT IT RIGHT. PERHAPS THE SMELL IS COMING FROM THOSE PIGS CIRCLING OVER THE WASTE PLANT.

Why dont you all get onto your local MP and fight to get this taken to the European Court of Human Rights; they'd shut this down in a flash.

- Superlambbanana - 27-Mar-2011

What you all need is exposure and the whole profile of this situation raising; to get onto Granada Reports or something like that. You need serious media exposure in order to raise the profile and get this escalated. Might sound daft - but you need to do a protest outside the plant (think London this weekend!); you need to become seriously newsworthy and get this on the wider media's agenda. CLG meetings are all well and good, but all youre doing is playing to the Global Renewables managed agenda, where you just get lip service for genuine concerns. Get onto Granda Reports, get protesting, get attention, get solicitors interested, get a result.

There are a few infiltrators on here ! They stand out like a sore thumb ! Its time to act people and get protesting with the cameras on us ! I wont be putting up with that smell for much longer ! They have a couple more weeks to sort it then its action time [Sad!]

I wondered what that smell is. Absolutely awful, I thought it was my car or God Forbid the wife (yes I got wacked for that one). The smell and taste (yes taste) cannot be doing us any good and how the Council got away with this is beyond me. They will suffer at the upcoming elections.

The council that pushed through the planning consent was the previous labour county council.

There is a simple, if ironic solution to the 'stink/stench/smell' problem at this 'trash-disposal' plant.

The odours from this process, are being 'atmosphered' through the '3 chimneys' at the end of the 'line',

NOT from within the plant itself, which as promised has its buildings at 'negative' air pressure.

THE SIMPLE (if ironic) SOLUTION,????????????? run the 'steam/moisture' vented-air containing the 'many-compounds' that ARE the range of offensive smells,

THROUGH THE 'METHANE' (this methane is a product of the 'digesters' doing their job) FLAMES, THAT ARE BEING USED FOR 'ELECTRICITY-GENERATION',

IF the moisture laden air, readily seen, as steam coming out of the chimneys, was RE-DIRECTED SO AS TO PASS THROUGH THE 'EQUIVALANT OF A 'HEAT-TREATMENT' FURNACE.

ALL the substances causing the 'stink' would be destroyed, ergo, NO SMELL.

The 'clowns' running the place, and their bosses, can talk allthe PC, BS they want,

but I HAVE SEEN FURNACES RUNNING, and know that 900F+ destroys ALL organic compounds, with NO RESIDUE TO POISON THE ENVIRONMENT.

Its the wrong plant, in the right place, IF THEY HAD BUILT AN INCINERATOR THERE, AND RUN-IT CORRECTLY,

as is going on ALL ACROSS THE EUROPE,NORTH-AMERICA,JAPAN AND THE WORLD

Those people in the area, would have been able to get 'free-area-heating' and cheap electricity into the 'grid', with a 'minute' amount of inert debris to be disposed of.

The 'bugga-Boo' about incineration, is just ignorant, ignorance of the benefits of a properly run incinerator, based on the 'outrageously incompetantly' run incinerators in britain in the 1970's.

The 'witch-burning' suspicious fear of the brits, are not easily overcome, BUT in the meantime,

IF THESE OFFENSIVE COMPOUNDS WERE BURNT BY THE VERY METHANE GAS, PRODUCED IN A DIFFERENT PART OF THE PLANT,
BY RE-DIRECTING THOSE 'AEROSOLS' INTO THOSE FLAMES.

THERE WOULD BE NO SMELLS OR ANYTHING ELSE TO DIMINISH THE AREA-HABITAT.

Back in the day, ALL THE BURNABLE TRASH, FROM PRESTONS GARBAGE, WAS SENT TO THE PENWORTHAM POWER STATION, where it was mixed with the coal, and run across the 'lancahire-boiler-chain-grate' steam generating furnaces,

nobody could smell it, the garbage was 'gone' and the whole thing worked.

a win win situation. UNTILL THE IGNORANT CHAIR-BOUND OFFICE-WARRIORS STARTED MEDDLING IN MATTERS THEY DID NOT THEN, and obviously do not now know anything about.

If enough people are upset enough, and start to make their feelings known, something will be done,

if sitting down in the road, works for striking workers, why not for dis-gruntled residents, who were promised 'NO-SMELLS' by the

Cindy is your main infiltrator. Why dont you ask at the next CLG why Global deem it fit to lie even further by putting stooges on this site to blag the residents even more.

The Brits have a historical reputation of being excellent grumblers/grizzlers but very poor 'complainers',

The difference??. A grumbler just makes mouth-music to make him/her feel better, but gets nothing done about the problem.

whereas a 'complainer' sits down at the 'phone and my friend who lives close by, has a readily available number, to a dept. not associated with the global-guys, speaks his words, AND GETS A WRITTEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT WITH A REFERENCE NUMBER OF HIS COMPLAINT.

write a PAPER letter, on the same machine your reading this on, copy it, preferably in duplicate, and send it by postal-mail, to the people who can get things changed. with a stamped return addressed envelope

if its written, and copies sent elsewhere, its difficult for those who would, to delete and forget it.

All the 'griping' thats written on this posting, will change absolutely nothing,

THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS FORUM, AND WHATS SAID, THEY RARELY READ IT ANYWAY.

But!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if your NOT going to go to the meetings, or write letters and make calls to the 'freephone' number available.

you cannot speak too loudly, because YOU DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO MAKE SOME POSITIVE MOVEMENT AND DEFEND YOURSELF.

Its not 'rocket-science' global-thingy' don't have assassins waiting to come and 'get-you',

just get off your 'fat-asses' and do something positive for a change, instead of waiting for others to act to protect you and mewling about how 'bad things are'.

Apparently there were more than 80people at the last meeting, surely you guys can 'double' that number at the next meeting IF you feel you have any 'real' as opposed to immagined complaint about the smells and bio-content of the vented to air effluent..
