- Sharon - 28-Feb-2006 quote: Originally posted by muffers I read on the BBC website this week where a man held his 3month old baby over the gasfire and burnt his face then having done that he went on to bash his head in. He got 22years,to me thats way to easy. He should not be allowed to live and his wife got 3years now tell me where is the justice for that child. Where is the justice for the guy who got 12 weeks for running over and killing a 3 year old girl with no tax and insurance and a provisional licence. - noel - 28-Feb-2006 quote: Originally posted by David With regard to the lack of capital punishment in the UK. How did that law come into force, ie: Did 'the people' get to vote on it, or was it introduced in the Commons and went through those channels as many new laws do ? It was a Commons thing. At the time from memory most people wanted to retain the death sentence but MPs knew better. |
