I remember a Michael Batty in my year at Balshaw's - always envied him for living right across the road from the school when I had to get the S18 bus from Lostock Hall!

Mike Batty was my best man in '74 and vice versa. Pat Batty is well known as a founder member of the folk group The Auld Triangle and ran the Westhoughton Folk Club all those years until they retired in January 2009. Mike and Pat live in Whittle le Woods.
