Might be of help, missing £ sign WinXP - Spycam - 06-Nov-2006 My 18 month old laptop has never hwd a £ sign and the @ was in the wrong place. Just worked out what was wrong and sorted it out as follows.... Windows XP. control panel > regional options > under "pick a task" click "add other languages" click "advanced" select "alter language to English (UK)" click OK all finished - Sharon - 07-Nov-2006 Do you know what Roy.... my pound sign dosn't work on my laptop and my @ sign is where my speech marks are. I will follow your instructions and see if they work! - Spycam - 08-Nov-2006 Sharon, it should sort the problem. Let us know how you get on please. - anacortesdamp - 08-Nov-2006 But what if you want to retain the English US keyboard. but just want to upot a pound sign in occasionally? Frank - noel - 08-Nov-2006 Frank, you can go into the keyboard character map, ( start-accessories-system tools-charactermap) and select any of the symbols there press the copy button and it allows you to "paste" the symbol in the appropriate places. - anacortesdamp - 08-Nov-2006 Thanks Noel. Frank - Spycam - 08-Nov-2006 Hello Frank, hope you are keeping well. As I understand it there are 101 key and 104 key keyboards. Our laptops were set at 101 key from the factory but they have 104 keys. The changes I posted convert it to 104, and we get all keys working correctly.I might be wrong, as I often am.[ ]
