Virgin Media helpline charges - LDunlop76 - 20-Jul-2007 When Blueyonder provided local broadband services, calls to the helpline on the 151 number were free. I read today that now Virgin Media has taken over, they have removed the free helpline service and calls will cost 25p a minute. This is in contrast to the BT charge of 4p and Tiscali's fee of 10p. How can Virgin justify such a price hike? http://www.guardian.co.uk/consumer/story/0,,2130841,00.html - Spycam - 20-Jul-2007 I have just had experience of this myself. My laptop is playing up so I bought a cheap PC tower from Currys. It uses Windows Vista and it would not load the Blueyonder disc. There is no Vista disc available from Virgin Media so it cost 25p /min helpline. My system was fully set up in 10 mins so it didn't cost a fortune and when you ring the help line you do not go on hold, it rings till answered. Also during setup they tell how much it's costing and ask if it's ok to continue. |
