Text correction problems - noel - 18-Sep-2003

Can anyone help me with this please. When writing on line, I find that if I want to correct written matter that as I go back to correct the errors, frequently as I type, the letters to the right of the cursor begin to actually move towards the cursor and actually disappear, which makes it difficult to correct text in the middle of a posting. It's not something new, I've had it on all the computers (5) I owned. But it's something I've never been able to bottom.
Has anyone else come across this phenomenon?

Noel, Go to WORD/TOOLS/EDIT and I think you will have, `Typing replaces selection` ticked. If you have, get rid of the tick, click APPLY and OK. Hope that`s the answer.

Thanks Jim. I'll let you know if it works.

Or you could try using the Insert button, usually found between the main keyboard and the numeric keypad.

No neither one worked. How odd.!! I've never used the insert key or the home one .
