Where would Walton Summit and Moss Side fit in with all this? Just competition for storage units?

Why not properly utilise existing areas and leave the green belt unbuilt?

Politicians won't be happy until every blade of grass is concreted over.

I've decided to complain to the council about this proposal. The green stretch we always called lostock straights is the road that separates lostock hall from farington . We have always been led to believe it was sacrosanct and would never be built on. Promises promises.

I certainly sympathise with this noel but (see other thread re Cuerden development) this development is apparently going to provide 2,500 jobs. Can we have it both ways? I don't know but the only time that green fields should be built upon is if there are no suitable brown field sites in the vicinity.

That's precisely my point Bill. There are units all over the place empty, Enetrprise Business Park for example I pass through 2 or 3 times a week. Brand new units built to replace those that got burned down. Once green field sites are built on you can't unbuild them.
