Printer Problem! - normandbarb - 23-Jan-2005 Can anyone help please? My printer HP 720C has not worked properly since I installed Windows XP. The problem is that all printing is slightly squashed or compressed. eg when trying to print Avery labels, although I use the correct avery number the text does not fit. I would love somebody to solve the problem for me Thankyou,Barbara - Martin - 23-Jan-2005 I never got the hang of those label templates. Have you tried manually setting your label size? I find it works much better when you adjust the sizes yourself. - normandbarb - 24-Jan-2005 I have tried that Martin, but I don't think I should have to do you? Things always worked OK when we were on Windows 98 How about you? - William R - 24-Jan-2005 I may be wrong here - but can`t you go back to Windows 98 format even though you have XP installed?? - noel - 24-Jan-2005 I preferred windows 98. Barbara I've heard of similar problems with print on the 720 when going up to XP. Have you tried searching for a HP forum? you're more likely to get help there. You could try this one http://www.tek-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=697 - anacortesdamp - 25-Jan-2005 I have Win 98SE on one computer and WinXP with SP2 on the other. We recently switched ISPs to Verizon DSL. 80 percent of their software is incompatible with XP/SP2! The 98SE computer is much more stable and doesn't get attacked by viruses and worms. Unfortunately, with a 450MHz processor, it's not fast enough for most of the high-performance browsers. I'm so ticked off that I signed up for a year's worth of service from these encephalophallics, I'm looking into ways to abrogate the contract and go with someone else. I had to replace my Epson when I updated because it wasn`t supported by XP. You can chech all your add-ons with XP to see what will and what will not work. |
