Links???? - Spitfire - 14-Aug-2005

For the last couple of days I have been unable to access this forum by clicking on the links that come with the subscribed e-mails received from here.
Clicking the link (within the e-mail) simply opens up a new BLANK Explorer page. When this happens I have to click the forum link that I have displayed in the links bar of the empty page and I get through every time.
I`m using Incredimail and have never had this problem before.
Any ideas folks?

Jim, can you send me the link that you get.

- Spitfire - 14-Aug-2005

Hi Martin,, The link that works OK is:-
http://forum.leylandtown.info/forum/default.asp

An example of one that gives a blank browser page is shown below.

I hope this is of use to you.

Jim, your truck looks very nice !

I'm wondering if anyone has any comments regarding 'printers',what makes are the most reliable and cheapest to run in terms of price per copy rather than initial printer cost ?

The current trend in ink jet printers seems to tend towards all in one devices, these are offered at remarkably low prices no doubt to snare one and therafter to pedal expesive ink packages ., but the nimber of available printers is overwhelming and 'Consumer Reports' seem to offer little guidance as to true cost of operation.

Alan, My current printer is a 3 - 1. It`s the Epson CX3200. I`ve had combinations before but this is the best so far. Running costs are very good and although the ink cartrides are `chipped` a very cheap tool is available for re-setting them. I use compatable cartrides (the black is 3 for £10) and you really cannot tell the difference (apart from the price). You can also use this printer without the PC being switched on, which is great if you only need a quick copy etc.
Of course, if you get 10 replies you`ll get 10 different printers recommended.[Tongue]

The link works when i click on it Jim

The link works ok for me but I'm clicking it on the forum website.

Maybe your mail or windows is blocking it from showing, try holding down the Ctrl key when you click and see if that solves the problem.

- Spitfire - 20-Aug-2005

David, Can`t understand what the problem can be. I`ve tried everything I can think of. It`s worked OK for the last couple of years and I havn`t altered any settings that I`m aware of.
Other links in my e-mails still open ok. ????????????????????

- Spitfire - 21-Aug-2005

I have narrowed the link problem down a little. I copied a full e-mail (subscribed link to a Leyland forum thread) and pasted it into a new MS Word window. I clicked on the link and hey-presto, the Forum opened up straight away. I guess that has to point the finger at my mail (Incredimail) program.

Phewwwwwwwwwww! PROBLEM SOLVED. The mail help-desk sent me to Internet Explorers web settings and sorted it.
