Digital Camera

Batteries? My little digicam runs on Duracell Ultra M3 which I get from Dixons in packs of Eight, and generally get one free set as well, I got 16 batteries for £4.99. I get fifty pics off each set of batteries (2) by turning off all the additional things, like the LCD screen and any others which are using power, there is a power saving feature on this one. I have tried re-chargeable ones, Uniross NiMH 1300mAh 1.2 volts and they just give me ten pics before re-charging.

I have found that my digicam requires 1.5 volts to keep going, and shows "flat" batteries at just below 1.2 volts. When I have finished with the Duracell ones, I use them on other things like mobile phones which take less power.

So, if you can manage without the viewing LCD, you can make savings, they are not much use in sunlight anyway.

I took 150 pics in Belgium and used four batteries if that`s any guide.

Good luck with the new cameras.

My Camera came with two Panasonic AA batteries. They didn't last a couple of hours but I also bought some 2300Ah nimh rechargables which have lasted a few days so far without needing a recharge. We are off to Glastonbury for a few days soon, to see our friend who is a famous author[Big Grin] I'm taking my recharger and spares so we can snap away.

Nice Martin. And I am pleased to say my DV editing is improving.
I have finally got a "movie" onto CD and viewed it on my telly. Who's the famous author?

I'll look out for the book when I fly from Manchester in a few weeks. You can usually pick up some good offers at the airport.
The write-up sounds like my kind of read.

Martin, Re. the photo of the keyboard., How do we know that it`s you - no hands were showing? Bet you say you were using them at the time to take the piccy! Seriously though, you have picked up the main requirement with digital photography at an early stage.. First rule is to NEVER venture out without a fully charged set of spare batteries.

Does anyone know how I can increase the brightness/contrast on the video clips taken with a digital camera. The ones from the holiday could do with enhancing. Anybody????

What software do you have Bill? I think that you would need a video editing package to do it.
