The International Space Station has again come into view from the Preston area, and with clear skies a good view is possible, the viewing tonight was particularly good, and for those who may be interested, the ISS passes for the next few days are given below, look towards Blackpool - the west coast, and if the skies are clear, you cannot miss it.

Thanks for that. Wonder if Wigan is close enough to get a view?

Sorry Folks! - Looks as if my posting has given the weather the old kiss-of-death, trust me to give the times, and the the skies cloud over, but hopefully the weather will improve before the Monday sighting.
Linda you should have no problem viewing from Wigan area, and a 5 minute transit time should give you enough time to find and watch it.

Noel,
As I said its wall to wall cloud tonight, so I'm afraid there will be no viewing. It all depends on the transit for how bright it is, but it is very difficult to miss, and is the brightest thing in the sky (apart from the Moon of course) on the 5 minute pass it tracks the sky virtually fully from West to East, for the shorter duration times, you tend to see it fade up and fade down at different elevations in the sky, so the longer the visible duration, the easier it is to find and watch, if the time is right for viewing, and there is a mission on, you can even see the approach of the space shuttle as well. Hope this helps, I can provide all the compass co-ordinates and viewing elevations if required, but this really isn't required or necessary.

Further to my previous Post, the Space Shuttle also comes into view, so this looks to be quite a good time for viewing, and a chance to see the ISS and Shuttle together - if the weather is kind. I have added further dates to allow for the ISS and also the Shuttle, so the 12th/13th/14th/15th looks set to be a particularly good situation.
