I sent a letter to Malta confirming our flight times etc. so the people we were renting our holiday flat from could organise a taxi to collect us from the airport. That was sent a fortnight before we left, so should have arrived in plenty of time. Thank goodness we had also confirmed our arrival time by telephone as the letter arrived the day before we left Malta - 4 weeks after it had been posted!

I think most of the fault lies with the Maltese post. Last year postcards home were taking 3 or 4 days to arrive, this year it was more like 3 or 4 weeks!
