Hi Alan, I remember "Pablo's" ice cream parlour in Blackpool, too! My grandma had a friend (Mrs Walker) who ran a small boarding house on Wall Street, North Shore and we used to go and stay. Mrs Walker sometimes used to take me to Pablo's as a treat. Also recall an ice cream van on the sands called "Naventi's" at that time which sold beautiful golden-yellow ice cream. There was O'Hagan's Fish Bar, too - OK, I know it's not ice cream, but the fish & chips were delicious all the same! quote:

Karen, do you recall "Pablo's" ice cream parlour in Blackpool, it was similar to a factory in a back alley quite a distance from the promonade somewhere near the Winter Gardens, the ice cream was delicious as was obvious by the length of the line up ( Queue) to purchase.
Another popular ice cream manufacturer was Bonds of Elswick .
