Stayed in a place in Japan 200km north of Tokyo recently called Kashima (big steel works) where there is a shrine with a 1000 year old samurai sword.
The other week I was in Bremen Germany about 100km from Hamburg, i was amazed that after the 2nd world war flattening of Hamburg that the medieval centre of Bremen was reasonably intact, wonderful architecture
- and the food and beer were outstanding
