It seems there is a kettle for £ 60 that will boil water in 3 seconds

I couldn't get the cup out and put the teabag and sugar in in that time!

The advert for it's been running on the telly for a while. It heats up the water you need as it travels through the system, so it is very fast. See one here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-Quick-Cup/dp/B000SK9G52/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1197117134&sr=8-1
Bit dear though - patience is cheaper!

Not very good reviews on this gadget

They are saying that it doesn't boil the water, it just heats it up which isn't good for making tea.

I'm sticking to a kettle which goes on the hob - nothing to go wrong with one of those!

Costco had the Tefal ones for £38 today - still wasn't tempted!

A friend bought one of those kettles and she ended up throwing it away. It didn't boil the water as you say Martin, and left a bitter taste to tea, coffee etc. She tried to take it back to Argos but they said as it wasn't faulty she couldn't get a refund only a swop for the same product. In the end it just went in with the weekly trash lol.
I have a delightful little kettle I bought from Argos for £3.50ish I remember. It is nothing fancy but it does the job!!!!!
