Another scam to be aware of.
#1
The following appears to be genuine. If it isn`t - then there`s no harm done in bringing to your notice.
Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching -

it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making
people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel
Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and
that you need to contact them on
0906 6611911 (a premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will
already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail
Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at
www.icstis.org.uk <file:///www.icstis.org.uk>

Please circulate this to avoid anyone else being ripped off.

Cards pushed through by official mail delivery services usually have a map or address of the nearest depot on the back, not just a phone number. You are given the option of going to collect the mail in person. If you miss a bona fide parcel, the worst that will happen is that it will be returned to sender, in which case the sender is likely to contact you. With online ordering, you can usually track the progress of your order online and know when it's likely to be delivered. So if you've ordered something and are wondering if this mystery card through your door relates to the parcel you ordered, check online to see if it's been dispatched. You can always ring the company up to see which delivery company they're using too. With scams like this around, it pays to be cautious!
