Haydocks butchers is still there with son Michael running it. I was very friendly with Joyce ( Michael's older sister) when we were children.

I was friendly with Michael and Joyce as well in my childhood, used to play with sheeps eyes in the back of their house. I think that was food for thought in later years. I can't remember the old man's name but we had many a laugh climbing on his shed roof and waiting for the bucketfull of water to come over.

Granddad Haydock was called Dick and he once set off a whole biscuit tin of fireworks while he was holding them, He always had a fag in his mouth and the ash dropped in the tin and set them off. It was certainly very spectacular and Joyce was upset because they had all gone off together LOL

Dedrah, do you remember Haydock's house being struck by a thunderbolt? Went straight through the roof and into the bedroom I believe.

Hi Mick
Changing the subject, I notice that on Friends Reunited you went to Worden and its says you left in 1974. Thats the year I left but I can't remember you or where you a year different. I know its not the right thread to go onto the subject of school but just wanted to know.
