Can anyone give us an update on the current situation in Leyland. were there any floods?

I don't think there were any floods. The river lostock was *very* full, and indeed they closed off the path in Hocking Wood because of the danger. The bridge that is on Longmeanygate (near to Wilkinson's car garage), was only about a foot above the water (!). Usually its a good six-ten feet between the bottom of the bridge and the water...

There was flooding on Dawson lane so we had to turn back and go down sheephill and Cuerden valley was closed due to the river overflowing its banks.
