Classic Car Rally

Town hosts historic car display

By Emilie Bradshaw
Classic car fans were in their element as a Lancashire town played host to a display of historic Fords.
From Lotus Cortinas to Zodiacs and Capris. Car lovers were transported back in time as 147 classic Fords descended on Leyland, near Preston.

Members of the NorthWest based Cortina MK1 and Ford Owners Club turned out in force for their annual display at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in King Street.

I meant to take a look but forgot all about it!

I did drive past though and even in the poor weather it looked like a good turn out.

It was a great turn out, despite the awful weather, the numbers growing year by year.

The next two shows will really be worth a visit for anybody with the slightest interest in transport.

May 18th. The 25th anniversary of the museum`s existance. Spcecial vintage displays and a brass band.

June 15th. This is `American` day and by far the largest gathering of the year (if previous shows are anything to go by).
The return of this popular event will once again see a fantastic gathering of American vehicles, including long bonnetted Mack, Peterbuilt & Kenworth trucks, Cadillacs, Chevrolets and Harleys, with live country music and cowboys and indians!
