Their ice cream was very good, but it didn't keep. You had to eat it immediately after you bought it. I guess they didn't have the stabiilsers and preservatives that store-bought ice cream had.
Are they still in business? We also liked Corcoran's ice cream. They had a little shop at the bottom of a dead-end street off Hough Lane, up against LML's factory wall, just a bit towards the gasworks from the GPO (can't remember the street name after 59 years!). It was a fair walk from the Cross, but worth it. Frank

Still in business, they have several vans and their shop on Leyland lane. Wilf Corcoran lived on Golden Hill lane, his 1 van had a characteristic air horn as opposed to Robinson's hand held bell. Nowadays it's Greensleeves or Just one cornetto !!
