Newcastle is Tyneside Anne, Middlesborough is miles away. Actually my son travels there 5 days a week working at nearby Redcar.

Here's what Wikipedia says
quote:

Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, in 1968 the town became the centre of the county borough of Teesside, which was absorbed by the non-metropolitan county of Cleveland in 1974. In 1996 Cleveland was abolished, and the Middlesbrough borough became a unitary authority, within the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire.

Me again
just been thinking that i haven't told you the reason for the disagreement..
Well we have a static Van in Reighton Scarborough.. and went for the weekend 15th 16th and 17th of August...Geoff (hubby) myself, son Paul, and his partner Becky.. who was at that point 39 weeks pregnant. i know what you are thinking should she have gone... but she said she was ok... and you don't argue with a woman with all them hormones floating about....
Any way we spent a lovley day on saturday in Scarborough. walked miles Becky kept saying i'm fine don't worry..
At night we all went to the club about 9pm for a drink but Geoff nor i fancied a drink which is very odd for me cos i like a glass of wine.so we came back.. Paul and Becky came back at about 11pm Becky was a bit uncomfy so they went to bed..as we did.. then at 2-30am Paul woke us up telling us her waters had gone so i rang Scarborough hospital up.. they said to bring her in even though she had no pain...anyway Ellie-Anne was born 11mins past 5 am 17th August weighing 7lb 13oz after just 1 hr 15 mins of labour pains..looking great may i say...
anyway back to the disagreement... i being a Lancashire lass and proud of it.. was so happy that Ellie-Anne had been born over in Yorkshire like her great Grandma.. (My Mum) she would have been as chuffed as little mint balls had she still been with us....God Bless her..i was telling my friend all about it Ellie-Anne being yorkshire like her Great Grandma.. when they said Middlesborough was not in Yorkshire..so there you go
Thank you again

Best wishes on the arrival of your grand-daughter, Anne. You and Geoff must have been psychic that evening - sensing not to drink because you'd need to drive! As Ellie-Anne was nearly born in a caravan, there might be a bit of the gypsy in her... mind you, with your psychic powers, perhaps we should be calling YOU Gypsy Rose Anne?
