Truck firm in Government talks

A famous Lancashire truck manufacture has appealed for Government help to ride out the deepening recession.
Bosses at Leyland Trucks are urging ministers to extend lending guarantees and to introduce a corporation tax window in a bid to jump start the vehicle manufacturing industry.
Orders from haulage firms are faltering because they are unable to raise the finance needed to buy new fleets of trucks.
Leyland's managing director Jim Sumner is leading negotiations with Business Secretary Lord Mandelson on behalf of the UK truck industry
