Railway Bank, Farington
#31
Noel my mum and freda had a shop next door to Blundells it was orginally the house that Freda lived in and yes you are right it was Frelia's a mixture of their names. My mums butter pies were legendary[Big Grin] They sold homemade pies, cooked meats and cheese also bread till Mr Lowery put a stop to it by threatening the suppliers to stop his order of bread unless they stopped supplying my mum and Freda and as mums order was so small compared to Mr Lowerys the suppliers had no choice.

I've just joined, and my great-great grandfather, James Barnes lived at no 2 Bridge Cottage, Railway bank in the 1861, 1871 and 1881 censuses. He was the mill manager, I believe.
