Chapel Brow

quote:

A PLAN to wipe out traffic problems on a Leyland road is to be discussed by councillors in the hope that work can begin this year.

Chapel Brow was identified as needing improvement work during inspections in 1999 and 2000 and a draft plan was drawn up after considerable public consultation.

The new plan will include introducing a one-way flow going north along the road, with traffic lights at the top of Chapel Brow, the installation of pedestrian crossing areas, rumble strips to reduce speed of traffic, new bus stops and road resurfacing.
The plan will be discussed at the next East Leyland Area Committee meeting next week.

Interesting!

My hubby went to the TSB speedbank on Chapel Brow one sunday to check the balance on the account, whilst he was at the bank he got a parking ticket as did everyone else parked on the street as they'd made it a restricted zone the week before and he didn't know. I always park on the McDonalds car park now.
Good idea to put traffic lights at the top on Golden Hill Lane junction its not aneasy one to get out of.
Its only a couple of years since a heavy rain fall caused the bottom end of Chapel brow to flood, there were cars queuing back onto the motorway at teatime that day. They only resurfaced part of the road just after that.
Reminds me of that Heinekan advert were they all want to put something in the hole.
