Avril, That was great. Thanks. Two things jumped to mind, how big it is and just how long it`s been in the building phase. Both , quite startling facts.

I posted the webpage because I thought no matter what your politics are you have to admit this is a great achievement and we waste a heck of a lot more money on other things which I will not go into because I wanted to focus on the great things that can be accomplished by man .

I agree the progress in the aeronautical industry in the last 100 years is phenomenol
and your link shows some of this progress not usually known by the layman. I am sure that many by-products have ensued from this work and research all to the benefit of mankind

As I have always said, information from` the horses mouth`, is invaluable and much easier to accept than tabloid or uninformed comment.
As Frank & John have so ably pointed out, developments in civil aviation are not accidental `spin-offs` from NASA, but are due to prolonged research. Long may it continue.
