I see that we are to have more diversions, I presume Railtrack or whoever are doing some work on the Railway Bridge by the station as
There is a road closure posted for 8 weeks - I beleive. Thought everything was going to be great as Golden hill is nearly finshed now this.

It's going to be horrendous, we've had enough with the Golden Hill saga still on-going.

mmm... it's going to mess me about. I live near there and use the 111 bus to get to work. For 8 weeks (at least) I'll have to walk down to Wheelton lane to catch it.
As I understand it, they are replacing the main bridge "slab" that everything runs over. That's a *lot* of work! I suspect that they'll take the existing "weak bridge" limit off after though, so watch out for the heavy wagons at the top of Golden Hill Lane afterwards. It's going to make it even more impossible to cross the road. :-(

It's the same the country over. Got back from hols to find major roadworks on the main road through the village here, set to be in place for 6 - 8 weeks. There is no alternative route for me to get to work unless I accept a 5 mile detour (on a 6 mile journey) so I am having to leave 20 minutes earlier in the morning to allow for time sitting in the queue for the temporary traffic lights. Grrr!
