Maybe our own Rocket Man John can shed some light on this anomaly because it seems to have stumped everybody else including the military !

It did'nt happen, it does'nt exist. Fake video, it happens all the time, we've heard it often before, on this forum.

The actual thing caught on film is superimposed ? I thought it was filmed from a traffic helicopter from a local tv station ! Eye witness's on the ground saw it so what did they see ? That is all I wanted to know, it isn't some conspiracy theory I have. I just thought you might have had an explanation but just like the Pentagon you didnt ! I have now discovered from a source that it may have been a normal jet with its contrail catching the setting sun to give some sort of optical illusion but believe me it did exist whatever it was !

Rockets don't normally fly [they don't really fly, they ascend-sometimes] in any attitude other than vertical, or close to it, be it up or down. Should a rocket fly in the attitude shown on the video it would be destroyed almost immediately. The space shuttle levels out at an altitude not visible with the naked eye. It then accelerates to achieve it's desired orbit. Escape velocity is a complex misnomer. Check it out.
I suspect it was just a contrail from a plane. John

That's what the FAA and NASA are saying now, John. The altitude/ground track profile is all wrong for a missile. They say that bright light at the top of the trail is the sun glinting off the airplane. They haven't identified the specific flight path and pinned it to a departure from LAX yet, but I'm sure they will.
Of course the nutters will insist it's a cover up, and there's a missile-armed Al-Qaida cell in LA!
