With supreme irony, Al Gore critises climate change sceptics, saying that they should be treated like racists, on the same day that the Met Office announces that we've just had the coldest summer for 19 years, following on from the two coldest winters in decades.
Oops !! Sorry I forgot, cold spells are only 'weather', it's the hot spells that are 'climate'. Silly me, perhaps I am a racist after all !!

IMO, there's no doubt whatever that the climate is changing, and has been for several milennia. The doubt is whether humans burning fossil fuels has any major impact on it.
A neighbor was telling me the other day that when she was a teen, about 60 years ago, the river running through Mount Vernon regularly froze to a depth that vehicles could drive on the ice. We haven't even seen any ice on the river at all, in the 12 years we've lived in this area.
In the ice age, where we live was under 50 feet or more of ice. Now the climate is much like the UK. It wasn't all the Neanderthals driving round in Cadillac SUVs that caused it to melt!
