60-minute "Corrie"
#1
Has the UK version of Coronation Street started doing an hour each night? The Vancouver channel Eileen watches it on has done that and I'm wondering whether it's a move to try and catch up chronologically.

An interesting side effect is that the "Omnibus" edition on Sunday morning now runs five hours (07:00 to 12:00)!

Frank

P.S. Im not really up and about at 03:00. It's only just after 19:00 on Friday here! Eileen is watching the second half hour.

Frank,
Don't know about UK but here (NZ) they're about to change from 1hr 2X a week to half an hour weeknights BUT what has most watchers VERY upset is that they're moving it from 7.30 to 5.30.
Our Prime Minister, John Key, was reportedly going to 'have a word with someone' about it, but seemingly to no avail!!

PS we're up to the bit where Molly is in Hospital after Tyrone crashed the car (Kevin hadn't finished working on the brake system)

Coronation Street actress Betty Driver has died at the age of 91

Driver joined the ITV soap in 1969 as barmaid Betty Turpin - later Williams.

She was employed on a three-month contract but stayed for 42 years. "I thought, why not," Driver recalled. "It'll make a break for a while."
