Comedy ebooks
#1
Have been searching around for comedy ebooks with a northern connection, and have come across two. The first is Dear Air 2000 by Terry Ravenscroft. Writing letters to Air 2000 was always great fun???
The second is Flat Caps and Muffin Baps by Les Jones, a collection of stories which give life to such Lancashire institutions as the working mens club, and give life to comedy characters like Agnes the window cleaner, built like a brick privy, and that's when she's all toffed up!!!!

I was fascinated by the title so I bought the book. I really liked the story 'A Woman's Place', it gives an insight into the working men's club of many years ago, and those lads at the bar, cushioned from their womenfolk by the steel walls of the club. But then Alf's wife does something about it, as women usually do, and completely outgun the men to launch a new concept in clubland.
