As far as I remember, John, it was the chippy that sold the steak and kidney puddings. Most of them did back then. I certainly remember my wife's aunt and uncle, who had a chippy on London Road in Preston, always had S&K puds available.
Their shop was a 123 London Road, next door to the pub whose entire front wall suddenly collapsed into the street (maybe 1964).
