Considering the length of time they were in office it's no real shock that it went up, especially when cuts to services isn't their preferred option.

Tories are refusing to do the freeze in other areas because they feel enough is enough but won't increase it to the max, that requires the referendum because they don't have the moral fortitude to tell Call me Dave and Pickled they are wrong and in all likelihood know that should they go to the electorate to do it they will be told no.

Sooner or later SRBC will have to do it. Sadly it will be a case of when and how much not IF.

Considering that a lot of people have had a pay freeze for the past 3 or 4 years and Councils have cut a lot of services, it's not really a freeze, we are just paying more for the the few services still run by the councils.
