Arnold Clarke Traffic LIghts
#1
hi all

Has anyone else noticed that since Arnold Clarke moved into the old SGL showroom the delay on the traffic lights by the showroom has increased tenfold. I travel this route daily and remember no delays at this juction !!! I wonder how much this cost ???

Nice captive advertising..................

Yes a lot of drivers give up after several minutes seeing nothing coming throgh in the opposite direction and go through on red. I try to plan my routes avoiding these lights like the plague. I believe you can ring County Hall and ask for them to be looked at. I did this with the ones at Lostock Hall and got some action. Unfortunately I can't remember who I spoke to but if it's causing you problems ring 'em up.

That's usually caused by a traffic sensor failure to "always on". The highway maintenance people would be the ones to call, or maybe the local police.

Please inform as to who is Arnold Clarke. Iassume that SGL is Station Garage Ltd.

If you follow this URL it's the junction where Churchill Way is. Just opposite and slightly left is Arnold Clarke ( was Station Garage new centre until it went bust). The lights are just before there coming from Whelton Lane.

I've spoken to the highways agency and it would seem that there have been many complaints - they say that the lights are working correctly and the extended waiting time is to allow greater traffic flow from the industrial estate.....

I will inquire again today....

Great Advertising - Captive Audience....

Yes it was Alan, Station Garage expanded into Preston , Chorley and a brand new HQ off Golden Hill. Unfortunately they went bust , Arnold Clarke took over the Golden Hill site, the old garage opposite the Railway Pub is now a main Vauxhall dealer.
