It's Festival Time
#1
No, not the Leyland festival. It will soon be the Glastonbury festival. Although the event is on a farm about 6 miles away, calling it the Pilton Festival doesn't quite sound as attractive.

Unfortunately I will be in Kent that weekend, Hayley has arranged our diary so that we miss being here when the festival is on.

I do remember the last festival two years ago, the queue of traffic stretched back six or seven miles at two o'clock in the morning. I was coming home from a nightclub at the time.

over 100,000 people descended on an area with a population of less then 10,000. This year, the council have given it a last chance, if as many people gate crash as in previous years, they will not issue any more licences, the festival will be no more. The organisers have made an effort to control the crowds this year, they have built a fence twice as high as before, a new management team has taken over with improved security and Mr Eavis has sent out an open letter asking people not to come if they haven't got a ticket.

At least the shopkeepers here wil be happy for the extra custom the festival brings.

I like this time of year here.

I vaguely remeber the festival Martin but every time it was held it rained buckets and everywhere was soaked. Hope they have better weather this year.
