We have a massive storm moving across southern California, and folks here just aren't used to driving when the roads are in flood.

I guess, thanks to "El Nino", you're getting what normally comes to Washington this time of year. Today (and for the last 5 days), we've had clear blue skies, light winds, overnight frost (min temps around -2C) and highs about 12C. No snow so far down at sea level and "only" 125 inches at Mount Baker, our local ski area. Two years ago, Mount Baker had to close because the snow had engulfed the chair lifts. The ski area is about a 45-minute drive from home, but we aren't winter fans. I understand, from folks that are, that the snow isn't very good for skiers due to a high water content. The call it "Cascades Concrete". Maybe the trains would run better if England got that kind of snow?

Two sets of ex-pat friends have gone south to escape the usual wet gloomy stuff and it followed them!
