The Great Unwatched
#1
quote:

Digital Programmes Draw a Viewing Blank

NOBODY watched more than 55 days worth of programmes on the BBC's digital channels last year.

Figures from the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board show 1,328 hours of television on five networks went unwatched.

The channel with the most zero-rated output was BBC News 24, which recorded 472 hours of "unwatched" programming, reports the Guardian.

Next was CBBC, with 314 hours of its programmes scoring a zero rating.

So is it really worth splashing out on a digi box

Ah, but it didn't say when those unwatched hours were. News24 is on 24/7, as its name implies, but won't get many viewers in the middle of the night. Overseas viewers would tend to go for CNN or Sky News rather than the BBC, unless they're ex-pats, I would have thought.

I can't comment on CBBC as my two are too old for it now! <g>
