It struck me a category for listing favourite web sites might be an idea, after viewing this one of a chess colleague, a trainee chemist at Bristol University who by the way has won 93% of his games, compared to my 43% I don't think I stand much chance.
Anyway here is his web site. His user name is eddnet.

Well done Noel, you've confused the forum code.

Ta Martin, I pasted it correctly and it looked fine in original form but when posted the letters took on some kind of mysterious form.
I think I may have been watching too much of Afterlife.

If you click on the rivers and glaciers section Avril, then Himalayas, I found that awesome. The friend who passed the site on to me says you can download your own photos. I've none worth downloading.

Great stuff,Noel.
Do I take it you play chess-if so were you in BL Wilkinson's chess group.
I learned the basic moves from him but dipped out after being continually thrashed by all and sundry.
Occasionally he would have a top player in to play us all -usually a group of about 20.
Interesting to be directed to favourite web sites. Keep them coming.

Hi Lynne, yes I was in the Chess Club as it was called. I still play on an internet site www.chessworld.net where I go by the name "incrediblebulk".
After 4 years on it I've reached the status of strong beginner. It's interesting that when I'm beating a player, he often takes the maximum time allowed to make a move ( one game I'm playing is 20 days allowed, far too long) when I'm being beaten in a game the same player makes a move far more quickly.

If you feel like chilling out another interesting site is the Australian Antarctic Division website- www.aad.gov.au - I used to work for them and went south a number of times so I'm a regular visitor to their site. They have live web cams and data on the weather conditions and a host of other stuff, if you are the boffiny type there is a lot of scientific research stuff too. You can download cool screensavers and photo's as well as receive info by mail for school projects for any teachers looking for different subjects to teach.
