Protests at demolition proposals
#1
quote:

PROTESTERS have hit out at controversial plans for an historic area of Leyland.

Residents have slammed proposals by Leyland-based developers Rock Acre Ltd to demolish a property at 34 Church Road to make way for a three-storey block of 10 apartments with parking for 14 cars.
The objectors claim the Edwardian house lies on the edge of the Leyland Cross Conservation Area and sits in the heart of historic Leyland.
Next door is the 250-year-old pub Eagle and Child, while Leyland Parish Church, which historians believe has existed for almost 1,000 years, is about 50 yards away from the proposed development.
Regular drinkers at the Eagle and Child have signed a petition, angry neighbours on Church Road have put up posters outside their homes, and South Ribble Council has received three letters of objection.

Sounds to me like the proposed development will spoil the look of that lovely corner of Leyland. :-(

I agree though I thought Tesco had done that already.
