Forgot about that, if I was being pedantic I would say it wouldn't count as I'm sure it's changed location!! Didn't it used to be across the road where the curtain place is now?

Hi All

I've been reliably informed by Bill Waring, our expert on Leyland that the oldest shop in Leyland still carrying on the same trade is Clarksons Butchers on Leyland Lane.

Is Clarkson's the one on the corner next to the dental practice?

Dobson's newsagents was at the cross. They bought the business from Threlfall's. The one on Canberra Road at Broadway/Hargreaves Avenue was Graham's.

I would put the Grimshaw bakeries on Hough Lane and Golden Hill well up there. Derek runs the show now, but I think his grandfather started it.
