Sorry I am late in wishing you a happy birthday William. Hope you had a wonderful day. Remember its not how old you are but how old you feel.
Love your posting William how true that is. My roads had quite a few bends and dark spots but its how you travel it that matters. My engine is still running and I am heading for home lets hope I have enough gas to make it.

It's from John Mortimer's Rumpole of the Bailey, maybe you didn't watch/read it. He used to talk about "She who must be obeyed".

OK! OK!
William's 'other half'here. Just to say many thanks for the lovely messages on our special days. We look forward to many more. Noel is right -it was Rumpole's way of describing her indoors. It was a great series. Some of you may remember Stewart Granger in 'King Solomons Mines. He was my favourite film star-so handsome. Saw him only the other day on an oldie but a goodie. Rider or is it Ryder -Haggard wrote another ripping yarn which you may know called 'SHE'-a terrific story and I am almost sure it was made into a film as well. In it the quest was for eternal youth and the woman ,She Who Must Be Obeyed. Turned out SHE had been living in a cave for 1000 years and when they got her out the lovely young woman crumbled away before their eyes. I must have seen a film as I can remember that part so well. Cheerio and thanks from both of us. [8D] [8D]
