I've had a couple of emails from Wiggo in Norway.
quote:
I am a fireman from Norway. In my firestation in town Kristiansund N we have a very nice Leyland firecar from 1925,still use this car also today at the museum.
We have had this firecar since it was buy new from the UK.
We have this car in our own firecar museum in my town.We have been around Norway on show with the Leyland and it has got some first price on the race/show.
We all wonder about is the factory where this car was build still there??We have planning to bring the firecar back to UK on a race/show or any.
We have think about the London to Brighton Run.Is your Town LEYLAND far away from this area?? Or mybe take it to a race/show in your town.
We try to have a deal with a Norwegian TV team who follow us on the trip.
Maybe have the car outside the factory and have some photo/film there if the factory building is still there.Leyland back home on a visit after 81 years!!!!!Look forward to hear from UK.All the best from one of 20 firefighters from Kristiansund N and Norway
I forwarded his email to the Leyland Vehicle Museum and gave him there website and email address details.
quote:
I have nothing heard from the adress you send my E-mail to so it is possibly not of interest. My boss asked me one day
about it!!!.
Scania Norway is willing to freight the Leyland in the UK area.Do you know any where else we can get any information
about the factory where our firecar was made then???Is it still there??
We want to land in Newcastle on our trip next year 2007.
And visit Whitby and Goatland (Aidensfield) on the way south UK.
We all look at TV on this nice old series with all the old cars and
motorcycles.
Next year is it the 46th London to Brighton run and we want to be with in one on the class.
I hope you understand my English writing Martin, hopefully better than your Norwegian!!! ;-)) Hope you have time to answer this one day.
Thank you.Take care,
and have a nice summer.
All the best from fireman Wiggo Langhelle Kristiansund N NORWAY
Can anyone else help with this enquiry? If I was in Leyland I would pop into the museum myself, but I'm too far away.
