Many thanks for your info, Bryan. I had all those children on a family tree my cousin did, but not the parents . And I have two extra children of Thomas and Margaret on it- Matthew Sutton( who became a sea captain), and Alice. Matthew was probably about twenty in 1881 so would be at sea perhaps.

Oh, and I presume Thomas and Ann are Thomas's parents. If only these folk had been a bit more original with their children's names! I can now add two more generations, pencilled in , to my tree!

(Later)...after much 'trawling around' I've found my great-great uncle Matthew Sutton Iddon age 17, first mate on the 'Twin Sisters' in port at Ulverston 1881.

I am Raymond Iddon and I live in Chorley, My dad is Gilbert Iddon born 1934 in Euxton, But im trying to get information on his dad Harold Iddon born sept 1906. All I know is he was not registerd in Chorley, So i think he is from Euxton or Leyland. His dad was called Edward Iddon. I would be very greatful if anyone knows anything at all about him.

Hi Ray, there used to be a Co in leyland called Iddon brothers off Hough Lane, my father worked there as a pattern maker for 31 years. I know that my dad used to do some work on there house at the corner of Moss Lane and Wigan Road dont know if its part of the same family but the old man Iddons name was Harold.
