I wasn't disappointed with Google Earth maps, I was pleased that they had been updated to show my newer car collection instead of what I used to own. Also the library van that has been parked nearby on every image since Mario and Google earth came out has now gone so they are updating them. It takes many months nay years to photograph the country. Its not a case of flying arund and taking pictures. The weather, light, air quality and amount of cloud cover has to be right so that the images are clear. Then the images are taken to be compensated for light level changes and any paralax error before being stiched together to make the final set of images. This means that there are not that many good flying/photography days each year. With the limited aircraft (I don't know if they have more than one?) it takes a long time to scan the whole contry. I don't know if they showed any of this on Coast but it's very interesting how its done.
