Olympic Torch Finale
#1
We had free tickets to the finale of the Olympic torch relay at the O2 in London on Sunday.

Here is a video we took of the flame arriving.

There were about half a dozen protesters in all and a few hundred police.

Thanks Martin, you certainly had a good view point. It's hard not to have mixed feelings though, I imagine the Olympic Committee are regretting giving the games to China.

Blimey, Martin, what a good stand point you had! Was that Dame Kelly Holmes?

The Olympic torch had a less successful journey in Paris today. I heard it took 2 hours for it to travel 2 kilometres due to the number of protesters. Of course, the French have no vested interest in making sure the protesters were kept at bay. (No chance it was any sour grapes coming into play, none at all! LOL!)

Contrast the Olympic torch in London http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/video/2008/apr/07/torch.protests.london with Paris http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/video/2008/apr/07/france.torch.protests
It all looks a lot nastier in Paris.

I saw Kellie Holmes, Princess Anne, Red Ken, Sebastion Coe, Sue Barker and others who I can't put names to. It was a bit chilly there after all the snow we had in the morning.
