Yep Neil,

We were members of both 1956 to 1961.
Gordon Smith was a good man ... he and his wife
taught us about enjoying life and caring for others
without us knowing it was happening!!!

I think there is a site somewhere on here where we
chatted and remenisced ... a few years ago.
They were such good times ... we were blessed to have
so many friends to socialise with. Many of us including
me and my husband met our future spouces there(our romance
began on the 1957 Blackpool trip)
Many of us carried on our frienships till the present time.

I remember seeing you in Jerry's in the early 60s ... our
group met every weekend in the "Best Room" for a number of years.
We used to swing the lamp if anyone told a tall story ....
Mrs McHugh lived in fear of it falling down from the ceiling!!!

Oh ... I'm an old classmate and a friend of your sister[Big Grin]

Hi Neil,St Mary's Youth club was my era it started in the Wooden huts behind the old Church in Worden Lane then transfered to the School in School Lane, I got involved with the running of it in School Lane. In those days you had to be menber to go in to any dance/music venue on a Sunday night other wise you couldn't charge entry fee. We got local groups and others from around the area, one of the more famous groups to play for us was Jethro Tull with Ian Anderton on flute and standing on one leg fame. Some great nights were had brings back many memories.
